Punta Cana, April 27, 2023 – During the second day of the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE), organized by the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES), Grupo Piñero held a press conference where it officially presented its new and most important commitment to innovation and evolution of its hotel portfolio: Cayo Levantado Resort.
The press conference was attended by Encarna Piñero, Vice President and CEO of Grupo Piñero, Hervé Blondél, General Manager of Cayo Levantado Resort, as well as the distinguished participation of the Minister of Tourism, David Collado.

During her speech, Encarna Piñero highlighted the strategic importance of Cayo Levantado Resort to enhance the value of one of the most important emblems of the Dominican Republic, such as the Samaná peninsula, as well as its contribution to the economic development and the business fabric of the region and its communities. The Group’s CEO also recalled the strong ties that bind the company to the country:

“We are nearing 30 years of operation in this wonderful country, practically the Dominican Republic has become a second home for our family. Our commitment to the destination, to the planet and, of course, to the people, is unwavering. If we want to talk about the future of tourism in the country, it is clear to us that both sustainability and the ability to connect with our different stakeholders are key guidelines”.

With Cayo Levantado Resort, Grupo Piñero has invested US$40 million in a product with a unique and differentiated personality, adapted to the luxury segment and at the forefront of the sector’s transformation. From this, a new vision of what luxury tourism should be has been created, called: “the luxury of regenerating(se)”.

“Our most important commitment to innovation and sustainability revolves around a triple regeneration: first, focused on the luxury of regenerating on vacation through exclusive experiences designed for wellness, care and meditation; second, with the luxury of regenerating our environment, where our presence must mean an improvement to biodiversity, and that besides being a luxury is a commitment and a responsibility; and third, with the luxury of promoting local culture by fostering talent and contributing to economic development,” said Encarna Piñero.

Hervé Blondel, General Manager of Cayo Levantado Resort with extensive experience in luxury hotels, shared the details of the new complex and the services it will provide, highlighting the concept of “Hidden Rhythm” that every guest at Cayo Levantado Resort will find: “We want to invite you to discover the other rhythm of the Dominican Republic; a different rhythm, vital and natural, secret and hidden on the island, but, above all, within each person who visits it. Likewise, we will seek to promote a destination where the preservation of its roots and its unique rhythms become the key to development”.

Sustainability will be a fundamental axis of Cayo Levantado Resort and guests will be able to experience it through three pillars: the environmental pillar, where the ecological impact will be minimized to the maximum, protecting the ecosystem and preserving the spectacular flora and fauna of the place; the local culture pillar, by integrating the local culture through the incorporation of local talent, generating 700 quality jobs with a future; and with the wellness pillar, offering a holistic integration of the physical, mental and spiritual part.

Finally, the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, mentioned: “this project of Cayo Levantado Resort expresses our illusion of sustainable tourism, which reflects the passion of its CEO Encarna Piñero. It is a project that does not leave aside our culture, our people and our gastronomy. I reiterate my congratulations to this investment, to Grupo Piñero and to Encarna Piñero”.

Cayo Levantado Resort will begin operations on June 1. The resort has 219 rooms, ranging from the intimacy of the Junior Suites to the grandeur of the Signature Villas. Each space is designed and decorated by local interior designers, inspired by the tropical beauty of this paradise; its fauna, flora, landscapes and seabed.

As part of the all-inclusive offer, guests can choose from three a la carte restaurants, a buffet restaurant, four bars and a cafeteria. These restaurants offer gourmet cuisine and the latest in mixology, with a high level of quality.
