High expectations with DATE 2023: more than 7,000 meetings confirmed
David Llibre, president of the Dominican Association of Hotels and Tourism (Asonahores), indicated that the tourism sector has very high expectations for the twenty-third edition of the traditional fair “Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange”, DATE.
He informed that to date, the fair, to be held from April 26-28, at the Barceló Bávaro Convention Center, Punta Cana, will host more than 7,000 meetings.
“And that number is still growing, since last year we had a participation of 5,800 meetings and we have already surpassed that figure by far,” added Llibre.
He also said that the fair expects to have a stand of more than 100 companies that have confirmed their participation; more than 150 buyers of tourism services, and more than 250 delegates from companies interested in learning about the product offered by the DR as a destination.
“This year we are very excited, since DATE is the most important business platform for the tourism sector in the DR and the Caribbean, and we have seen a massive participation of companies that have been joining with scheduled meetings,” he said.
The executive said that with the projections of the conclave, the projection that tourism in the DR will have a successful summer season and the rest of the year, thanks to the agreements that will be carried out during the DATE, is strengthened.
He detailed that there will be several novelties to show part of what is new in the Eastern zone, such as the inauguration of the event on Wednesday, April 26 at the Dreams Flora Punta Cana and the Dominican night, on April 27, at the Katmandu Park Punta Cana.
