Hyatt Hotels accelerates expansion with openings in Dominican Republic
Hyatt Hotels Corporation continues its unprecedented hotel development this year, reporting that its development pipeline now numbers 129,000 rooms, a growth of nearly 85% from 2017, with luxury, resort and lifestyle portfolios forming the core of this growth.
In addition, membership in the World of Hyatt loyalty program has quadrupled since 2017. At the end of the first quarter of 2024, the number of members increased by 22% and reached 46 million members.
“Hyatt’s ability to lead the industry in net room growth for seven years is the result of our unique approach to development,” said Mark Hoplamazian, Hyatt chairman and CEO.
“We strategically expanded our brand portfolio, intentionally selecting new and existing markets to enhance our network effect for owners and guests. Our commitment to thoughtful organic growth and strategic acquisitions amplifies our asset-poor business model. Our goal is not to be the largest hotel company, but the company most valued by colleagues, guests and owners,” he added.
It was also indicated that the Hyatt Inclusive Collection resorts continue to grow, with the opening of Dreams Madeira Resort Spa & Marina, Secrets Playa Esmeralda Punta Cana and Secrets Baby Beach Aruba in 2024 and 2025.
The company recalled that Hyatt Inclusive Collection has 124 properties with a total of more than 41,000 rooms, offering some of the best all-inclusive resort experiences from Mexico, Dominican Republic, to the Middle East.
