It’s Getting Easier to Fly to the Island of Saint Lucia
It’s about to get easier to fly to the Eastern Caribbean island of Saint Lucia this winter, with several major carriers expanding their service to the destination.
That includes Delta Airlines, which is adding a second Saturday flight between Atlanta and Saint Lucia. The expanded service will kick off in January, running through April.
American Airlines is also adding capacity on its Miami-Saint Lucia route, up-gauging from a Boeing 737 to an Airbus A321, a move that will add 18 extra seats per flight. That’s in addition to extra capacity on the Charlotte-Saint Lucia route.
More notably, American will be bringing back its second daily flight between Miami and Saint Lucia for the peak holiday season between December and January, officials confirmed.
Two other routes will see increased capacity: American’s Philadelphia-Saint Lucia route, which will add 52 seats between February and March, and JetBlue’s Saturday service out of New York, which will elevate to 162 seats in November and December.
“The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority remains deeply committed to fostering collaborations and nurturing partnerships with esteemed US airline counterparts,” said Saint Lucia Tourism Minister Ernest Hilaire in a statement. “hrough continued dialogue and cooperation, all entities are poised to build a sustainable and prosperous future fortified by seamless connections and memorable travel experiences.”
It’s part of what the Saint Lucia Tourism Authority is calling a “substantial increase” in air service offerings from the US market.
It also points to growing confidence from major American carriers in the strength of the Caribbean market for this upcoming winter, even in light of global uncertainties.
