JAC grants “special permission” to Air Europa to connect New York with Santo Domingo

José Marte Piantini, president of the Civil Aviation Board (JAC), informed that the agency approved a special permit for Air Europa to connect Madrid and New York, via Santo Domingo.

Following the approval of the new link, the Spanish airline will be operating 188 flights, 5 flights per week, from June 20 to October 29, 2023.

An agreement was signed between the Minister of Tourism, David Collado; the president of the Globalia Group, Juan José Hidalgo; and the president of the JAC for the realization of the same, within the framework of Fitur 2023.

The operation will be carried out aboard one of its Boeing 787, the aircraft in charge of operating between Madrid and New York.

Hidalgo stressed the importance of the new route and highlighted the company’s commitment to the DR destination.

“We will put the best aircraft in the world on the route to increase the connectivity needed and provide the best service,” he said at the time.
