Las Terrenas bans “Privity,” tents and noisy vehicles in SS 2024
Las Terrenas—The authorities of Las Terrenas announced that clandestine parties (privity), cars and motorcycles with excessive noise, and tent installations would be prohibited during Easter Week 2024.
Therefore, the mayor of Las Terrenas, Eduardo Esteban Polanco, indicated that during the holiday, only two traditional events are allowed, in front of Las Cayenas in Playa Las Ballenas and Bonche Las Terrenas, around Playa Punta Popi.
“The municipalities and visitors will be able to enjoy important artistic presentations totally free during 3 days at Punta Popi beach; in the next few hours we will publish the billboard,” he added.
He also said that the installation of booths will be prohibited along the entire coastline of the Calle Francisco Alberto Caamaño Deñó (Playa Las Ballenas), which will function as a one-way street in an east-west direction with an exit through the golf course grounds towards La Ceiba and Playa Bonita, as well as parking lots on these roads.
“Only the installation of mobile booths in support of small local merchants will be allowed in Punta Popi and Playa Calolima, under written permission from the Mayor’s Office during the holiday,” he added.
He explained that parking will also be prohibited around the Punta Popi photo stop; a public park will be set up for visitors.
“Tent houses will be prohibited in public spaces, rivers and beaches,” said the mayor.
Vehicles or motorcycles with alterations that cause excessive noise violate traffic signals, or disrespect pedestrians will be detained, according to RCN.
Polanco said, “We declare in permanent session the committee that directs the Easter Week 2024 operation.”
He pointed out that Las Terrenas will welcome every vacationer with great joy, to whom he only asks to enjoy with moderation and respect, taking care of the beaches and rivers and respecting the dispositions of the official organisms.
