Minister Collado assures SD convention center will be built in the old Hispaniola hotel
The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, informed that the convention center of the city of Santo Domingo will be built in the facilities of the former Hispaniola Hotel.
This center has always been debated by those who consider that the Dominican Republic, especially the capital, loses many opportunities for large international events due to the lack of a convention center.
Collado clarified that it has been in the government’s interest to have the referred type of tourism market segment and it will soon be a reality .
“Convention tourism is a priority, it is already in the legal stage, for which some terms are being discussed with President Luis Abinader,” he said.
