Minister Collado projects a record year end with 7.2 million tourists

Tourism Minister David Collado announced that October will exceed the same month in 2019 and 2018 by more than 80,000 or 100,000 foreigners visiting the country.

He said that it is averaging to have “the best month of October in history”, with a minimum of 450,000 foreigners.

«The projections we have (by the end of the year) is that for the first time in history the Dominican Republic will exceed 7 million tourists, ending at 7.2,» Collado estimated.

The highest year was 2018, when 6.5 million tourists arrived. This is so despite the fact that the arrival of Russians was reduced by 50,000 and that of Ukrainians by 9,000 monthly.
