Ministry of Tourism begins works for 176 million pesos in Galeras, Samaná
President Abinader leaves work on three important projects started.
Las Galeras, Samaná.- President Luis Abinader, together with the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, left the reconstruction works of the Plaza de Vendors, the rehabilitation of the pedestrian access to the beach of Las Galeras and the improvement of the drainage system started pluvial, in this municipal district of the Samaná province.
The works, an old claim of the community of Las Galeras, will be carried out with an investment of 176 million pesos, through the Executive Committee of Infrastructure in Tourist Zones (CEIZTUR) of the Ministry of Tourism.
The main objective of the project is to contribute to the strengthening of tourism in this municipal district, which will have a direct economic impact on its inhabitants.
Thanks to these works, an ideal space will be created to provide a good service to the user of this tourist area, by having the structures and facilities necessary for the development and strengthening of tourism in this destination.
President Abinader defined the municipality of Las Galeras as “an important source of prosperity for the entire northeast region”, with great strengths due to the great variety of its natural resources and paradisiacal beaches “.
“This type of initiative that is born from the community and for the community makes us feel that Las Galeras is an important municipality with development and its destination, and that is why we have paid our attention here, not only for what it offers as a destination tourism, with its natural resources, but also because we wanted to accompany them in their economic growth ”, emphasized the president.
He assured that the Project will contribute to the strengthening of the tourist offer in an inclusive manner, integrating and strengthening the community’s enterprises.
Minister David Collado highlighted, on his part, the importance of these projects in the tourism development of this province, which has been registering sustained growth.
“Today we started these works, thus addressing old claims of this industrious community of Las Galeras,” said the official.
“The most important of these three works is the impact it will have on tourism in the area and on the economy of its people, because as we have always said, for us tourism has a human face,” said Minister Collado.
