Ministry of Tourism will build bicycle lane in Barahona

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, announced that a bicycle lane will be built in the province of Barahona at a cost of 48 million pesos.

The project consists of rehabilitating the old road that leads to Saladillas beach and thus making it the first route only for cyclists in the southern region.

This important work contemplates turning this road into a tourist lung for people who exercise in the city, since it is about 1.9 km away and adapts to the designed project.

It will also have modern booths for the Specialized Tourist Security Corps (Cestur), who will have the responsibility of maintaining order and protecting the citizens who use this tourist lung.

Upon learning of the project, Collado reacted enthusiastically and expressed being convinced that it will be an important contribution to the tourism development of Barahona, and therefore he assumed it, instructing his assistants to put it on the agenda of work to be done.

“Mr. Milton Fernández, mayor of Barahona, the management of him has one more ally, in me he will have support so that the tourist development of Barahona is a reality, and about this project, I take it for granted”, said Minister Collado.

The work, which is an initiative of the management headed by Mayor Fernández, has a cost of about 48 million pesos, as it has a modern and avant-garde design, as well as areas for different types of exercises.
