MITUR welcomes the new American Airlines Philadelphia-Cibao International Airport route

The Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) officially welcomed the direct flight Philadelphia-Cibao International Airport, of the American Airlines company, operated in a Boeing 737.

Oscar Miguel De La Hoz, in charge of the Tourism Office at the Cibao Airport, on behalf of Minister David Collado, welcomed the passengers and crew of the aircraft.

The new route leaves from the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) to the Santiago International Airport (STI), with three weekly frequencies, on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

This new direct flight from Philadelphia to the Heart City seeks to boost the tourism and business sector for the entire northern region of the country.

In the summer, the number of passengers on flights is expected to increase, due to the importance of tourism in the north of the country.

These flights are being operated in aircraft with capacity for 172 passengers, 16 in business class and 156 in the main cabin.

Upon arrival, passengers expressed their joy at being in the Dominican Republic, which were received to the rhythm of merengue, by the folkloric ballet of MITUR, directed by Professor Oscar Batista.

It should be noted that the first flight that arrived from Philadelphia International Airport to Santiago International Airport was made on Friday, 2 of this month.
