Plans to create a platform to promote Valverde’s natural and tourism resources

The Director of Environment of Valverde province, Ernesto Rodríguez, met with delegates from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Nicols Rodríguez, representative of the company Kareta Travels, with the purpose of creating a platform for the management of natural resources and tourism.

“We are more than honored with the meeting of our Ministry and the representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency, chaired by Akihico Tanaka, as well as the person in charge of the Community Alliance for the Development of the Sustainable Tourism Circuit in the Northwest Region (Kareta Travels),” said Rodriguez.

He expressed that the idea is to promote and develop the sustainable community tourism in the Valverde Province, since it has natural resources such as rivers, mountains and Protected Areas, according to the Nuevo Diario.

“So we have to take advantage of these resources that Mother Nature gives us. In addition, the Valverde province, has a delicious gastronomy, both for the local tourist, as well as for the international tourist and the idea is to structure a platform with the collaboration of Kareta Travels and the JICA”, he emphasized.

The meeting was attended by the mayors of the municipalities of Esperanza, Laguna Salada and Mao, a representative of Governor Deisy Aquino, Neighborhood Councils, Civil Defense and a representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Valverde.
