President Abinader inaugurates the twenty-first CTN Vacations Expo Fair

Santo Domingo , RD May 22, 2022 .- With the presence of the President of the Republic Luis Abinader Corona, to whom this issue is dedicated, the twenty-first version of the CTN Expo Fair 2022 Holidays was inaugurated, an assembly designed for Dominican families to plan your vacations, both at home and abroad.

After a recess, as a result of the pandemic and with a series of attractions and novelties, Vacations CTN Expo Fair 2022, joins the initiatives carried out by various national sectors to continue strengthening and invigorating the country’s tourism and hotel sector, presenting offers and diversity of this important line of the economy.

The main words of the opening ceremony were given by Miguel A. Calzada León, president of CTN and Puro Turismo, who highlighted the initiatives of the Dominican authorities and all the tourism companies established in the country, in reactivating the “industry without chimney ”.

For his part, Calzada stressed that “the synergy between the public and private sectors is what has led us to be recognized by the World Tourism Organization as the leading country in recovery, a global example of management strategy in the midst of the worst pandemic. against the industry, which confined and frightened the world. He also said that with the arrival of 626,010 non-resident visitors last April is the palpable example of this joint work, and that the management of President Abinader and Minister Collado was visionary, by implementing free health insurance at the worst time. for Covid-19. This growth surprised us with 13% more than April 2018, 7% more than April 2019 and 91% more than the same month of 2021, which augurs a happy rest of 2022, with a projection of exceeding 7 million tourists.

The act included a recognition to President Luis Abinader, for his invaluable management in favor of the recovery and revitalization of the country’s tourism sector, post-pandemic, managing to position the Dominican Republic as one of the tourist attractions in the region with greater security and excellence.

Similarly, CTN Expo Fair Holidays 2022, distinguished the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the country in France, Rosa Hernández de Grullón, for developing a series of strategies to maintain and strengthen bilateral relations between France and the Dominican Republic, not only in the promotion of the country , but in the development of French trade and investment in the country.

The fair also recognized the Governor of the Central Bank, Héctor Valdez Albizu, for his vision and achievements in the economic field to guarantee financial stability and confidence of economic agents in the tourism sector of the Dominican Republic, as well as the Minister of Tourism, David Collado, for his constant effort and dedication to achieve an effective recovery of the tourism sector.

The XXI version made a special acknowledgment to the Dominican commercial banking especially, Banco Popular, Banreservas and BHD León, financial entities that have played a leading role in the rapid recovery of the country and tourism and the company CEPM, in the celebration of its 30th anniversary, accompanying the tourism development of the eastern part of the country thanks to an accessible, sustainable and reliable energy system.

This new version includes the participation of the main hotel companies in the country, travel agencies, airlines, rent cars, tourist real estate companies, complementary tourist offer companies who are offering prices and financing plans from the main commercial banks in the country.

In addition to the tourist and hotel offers, the fair has fun spaces for the whole family, among which a “zipline” for the little ones from the renowned Bávaro Runners Adventure firm stands out.

Likewise, and as an exhibitor, the new Katmandú theme park will be present, which is being built in Punta Cana, as well as a bar for adults and offers from the new hotels Margaritaville, Temptation Miches Resort, Live Aqua Beach Resort and special offers from the airlines Red. As part of its Social Responsibility, Vacations CTN Expo Fair 2022 will deliver a contribution with the proceeds from the tickets, to the Drepanodom Foundation, founded since 2016 and dedicated to helping children with sickle cell anemia, a genetic condition that destroys the red blood cells and makes them suffer from chronic pain throughout life. Unique in the Dominican Republic, with a population of 630 low-income children and adolescents, they seek to attract people who empathize with the cause, to provide them with medicines that can improve their quality of health.

In the same way and as an initiative of the CTN Expo Fair 2022, from this version, an economic fund is created to develop a campaign of cleaning action on Dominican beaches.

This new version also has as a novelty, the participation of the School of Tourism of the Ibero-American University (Unibe), with a stand in which the offers of this academic institution of its undergraduate and postgraduate career program will be announced, where its students will have the opportunity to live the experience of design and assembly, as part of their practical training of their career, while supporting the event in the protocol aspects.

As a novelty and for the first time, Vacations CTN Expo Fair 2022 implements the QR code with which each person who attends the fair during these three days and when paying their ticket, will be able to download a code with which they will have discounts in the Sambil stores and all the information related to the event.
