Puntacana Group and Supérate sign agreement to promote entrepreneurship
Grupo Puntacana and the social protection program, Supérate, signed an agreement to promote handicraft entrepreneurship and provide training to multiple collaborators of the group through the social program Mujeres Super Emprendedoras (Super Enterprising Women).
The purpose of the handicrafts program, which they have titled “Artecanas”, is to increase the quality of life of the women who are part of Grupo Puntacana, through creative projects that support their financial wellbeing, as an additional income for their households.
Frank Elías Rainieri, president and CEO of Grupo Puntacana, said that the company seeks with this program to turn them into SuperEmprendedoras, that tomorrow they will have their own business, that they can undertake and continue to grow. Not only the company must grow, but the whole community around it, and you are part of that community.
With the interest of becoming part of the orange economy development model, which seeks to transform ideas into goods through creative projects, Artecanas intends to provide women with technical training in handicrafts, soft business skills and micro-entrepreneurship.
Karina Guaba, vice president of Human Resources of Grupo Puntacana, said that one of our cultural attributes as a company is that our people grow. We talk about taking care of our employees, challenging them, developing them, and promoting a culture of respect, equity and equality.
During a period of three (3) months, the staff of the Mujeres SuperEmprendedoras program will train the registered employees of Grupo Puntacana. Once the training schedule is completed, the handicrafts created will be placed in strategic points of sale to generate profits that will go directly to the entrepreneurs.
