Rainieri Kuret is selected as the Dominican business leader with the best reputation
Santo Domingo , RD August 14, 2023.- Businessman Frank Elías Rainieri, president of Grupo Puntacana, was selected No.1 in the ranking of Dominican business leaders with the best reputation, prepared by the Corporate Reputation Business Monitor (MERCO).
Grupo Puntacana was also chosen No. 1 in the 2023 Tourism Companies Sector Ranking, No. 7 as the most environmentally responsible company and, in the same position, as the most responsible company internally, customers and society. Likewise, it was placed in position No. 19 in the General Ranking of Companies, in No. 13 in the Global Ranking of the most responsible ESG Companies and in position No. 23 as the most responsible company at an ethical and governance level.
The selection of Rainieri and Grupo Puntacana was made by the 149 members of the MERCO Steering Committee, which evaluated companies that operate in the Dominican Republic with a turnover of more than 10 million dollars.
The evaluations were carried out by 247 experts, including 31 financial analysts, 32 NGO representatives, 30 labor sector organizations, 30 instances for the defense of consumer rights, 29 economic information journalists, 32 professors from the business area, 33 representatives of government/public sector and 30 opinion leaders from Merco Digital.
MERCO is an instrument that functions as a reference corporate monitor in Latin America, which since 2000 has evaluated the reputation of leaders and companies, based on a multistakeholder methodology made up of six evaluations and more than twenty sources of information.
It is the first audit monitor in the world, which monitors the reputation and verification of its preparation process and results is the subject of an independent review by KPMG, according to the ISAE 3000 standard, which publishes its opinion for each edition. All the weighting criteria are public and, like the results of each edition, can be consulted on its website.
The report presented this Thursday reveals the leaders and companies with the best reputation in the Dominican Republic, covering more than 100 most responsible companies based on the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) assessment.
Frank Elías Rainieri, from Grupo Puntacana, was followed in the ranking by José Luis Corripio Estrada, from Grupo Corripio and Ligia Bonetti, from Grupo SID. The first 10 are completed by Pedro Brache, from Grupo Rica; Felipe Vicini, from INICIA; Manuel Alejandro Grullón, from Grupo Popular; Carlos José Martí, from Grupo Martí; Mercedes Ramos, from Grupo Ramos; Juana Barcelo, from Barrick Pueblo Viejo; and Román Ramos Uría, from Grupo Ramos.
Currently, MERCO makes 8 rankings on companies, leaders, responsibility, corporate governance, talent, consumption, city, university and health.
