Resounding success for DATE 2022: more than 5,700 business appointments

The Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE) 2022 concluded exceeding the expectations of the Association of Hotels and Tourism of the Dominican Republic (Asonahores), since by the end of the second day of the fair more than 5,700 business meetings had been held, exceeded the amount provided by the tourist entity.

This was reported by Andrés Marranzini, vice president of the entity, who also highlighted that President Luis Abinader’s support for the sector and that his presence at the fair was vital to demonstrate the work that the public-private sectors do together.

“What happened yesterday (last Thursday) on this stage was something extraordinary. Having the tour operators see the commitment of President Luis Abinader generated a lot of impact. Giving the first palazo for the construction of a new tourist project has been part of the success of DATE”, he added.

Meanwhile, Rafael Blanco Tejera, president of Asonahores, said that the interest in the Dominican Republic, both for tourism and investment, has been unprecedented.

He assured that the public-private alliance and the drive that the sector has augured great successes.
