Riu Just Reopened This Punta Cana All-Inclusive
Riu Hotels has reopened one of its top adults-only resorts in the Caribbean: the Riu Palace Macao Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
The hotel, which was Riu’s first-ever Palace hotel in the Caribbean when it opened its doors back in 1994, has a new look and new amenities.
That includes the addition of Elite Club by Riu, an elevated service that has its own private spaces akin to a preferred club.
The renovation project, the first at the resort since 2012, included more open spaces, new materials and added tropical vegetation.
There’s also a new-look lobby and reception area, along with the addition of an outdoor stage to the bar and lounge.
Riu has renovated the resort’s restaurants, from the Asian-fusion eatery Kabuki to the addition of a new sports bar that will be open 24 hours a day. All of the resort’s 476 rooms have been fully renovated; the property has also added a selection of swim-up rooms with private pools exclusively for Elite Club by Riu service guests.
Another new amenity is a full-fledged wellness and fitness center, with a large gym, a beauty salon, a spa, steam baths sand up to nine massage booths.
Renova Spa is managing the center.
Another Riu resort in Punta Cana, the Riu Palace Bavaro, is currently in the midst of a renovation project and will reopen sometime in 2024.
