Sky High Airline announces incorporation of its first Embraer-190

The airline Sky High Aviation Services reported the entry into its fleet of the first of two Embraer-190 aircraft, defined by the company as “unique in the Caribbean” and “with high technology and high performance engines.”

In this sense, Juan Chamizo Alonso, president of the airline, pointed out that “the Embraer-190 is the ideal aircraft that offers the opportunity to extend Sky High’s range of action, in addition to raising the level of the travel experience for our passengers. on existing routes essential for continued development as a leading operator in the Caribbean”

“With the entry into operation of the Embraer-190, Sky High becomes the first and only E-Jet operator based in the Caribbean,” he added.

He explained that “the aircraft with the greatest capacity was scheduled to be presented last Wednesday, May 25, in the country, but there was a slight delay and it will be next Friday, May 27, when it arrives in the Dominican Republic.”

However, in the activity carried out at the José Francisco Peña Gómez International Airport of Las Américas (AILA), the directors of Sky High reported that the second plane of this type will arrive within a maximum of 60 days.

The announcement of the modern plane was attended by Mónika Infante, General Director of Dominican Airports Siglo XXI (Aerodom); Jacquiline Mora, Deputy Minister of Tourism, as well as government authorities and executives of the Brazilian company Embraer.

Infante greeted the next arrival of the aircraft; while Jacquiline Mora stated that the new aircraft will serve to add more momentum and competition to the tourism industry.

It is recalled that Sky High, founded in 2012, offers more than 22 regular flights a week to and from AILA, serving 10 destinations in the Caribbean, such as Aruba, Curacao, St. Maarten, Antigua, Anguilla, Bonaire, St. Kitts , Tortola, Guadeloupe and Martinique. It also operates charter flights to the entire Caribbean region and its outskirts.
