Spanish Navy’s Juan Sebastián Elcano training ship to dock in the Dominican Republic
Santo Domingo.- The Spanish Navy’s training vessel, Juan Sebastián Elcano, is set to grace the waters of the Dominican Republic from Tuesday, March 5, until the 9th, as part of its academic and diplomatic mission.
During its stay in Punta Torrecilla, Santo Domingo Este, the schooner invites the general public to visit the ship on Wednesday, March 6, Thursday, March 7, and Friday, March 8, 2024.
This educational expedition aims to provide comprehensive training for the third-year midshipmen, covering aspects of sailing, military skills, and social and human development at the Naval Military School. Additionally, the ship supports the foreign diplomatic endeavors of the Spanish State in the ports it visits, as stated by the Spanish embassy in the country.
Visitors are welcome from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Wednesday and Thursday. On the final day, the ship opens its doors twice, from 10:00 in the morning until 1:00 in the afternoon, providing a unique opportunity for the public to explore this symbol of maritime education and diplomacy.
