The Bahamas and Qatar Just Signed an Air Services Agreement

The Bahamas has signed an air services agreement with the government of Qatar.

Bahamas Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Chester Cooper and Minister of Transport Jassim Saif Ahmed Al-Sulaiti signed the agreement, part of a broader plan for Qatar’s national carrier, Qatar Airways, to fly to more global destinations.

Al-Sulaiti and Cooper held talks on aspects of Qatari-Bahamian cooperation, including on transport, civil aviation, tourism and ports, among others.

The agreement could pave the way one day for flights on Qatar Airways to The Bahamas.

Qatar Airways is also sending its technical team to The Bahamas for an on-the-ground visit of Bahamasair’s domestic operations next month.
