The Excellence Collection will invest US$50 million to renovate hotels in the Caribbean
The Excellence Collection hotel group announced that it will invest more than US$50 million to update facilities and enhance the amenities of its properties in the Caribbean.
The aforementioned amount will be used for the eight resorts within The Excellence Collection portfolio in Cancun, Riviera Maya, Punta Cana and Montego Bay.
The first phase of investment begins immediately at Excellence Playa Mujeres in Mexico, with completion of all projects scheduled for 2024.
“Since the inception of our first resort in Punta Cana more than two decades ago, we have strived to achieve a standard in hospitality that we have now achieved and look forward to continuing for years to come. Our goal to improve the experiences we can offer our guests; we want those who choose to stay with us, to return and not settle for anything less than infinite excellence in each one who visits us”, said Domingo Aznar, commercial and marketing vice president of The Excellence Collection.
In this regard, and following the success and growing demand for the brand’s most sumptuous category to date, Beach Villas with private pools, The Excellence Collection will invest US$7.5 million to build 12 additional units at Excellence Oyster Bay in Jamaica, almost tripling its current lodging offer, offering a total of 17 villas once completed.
The new villas, like the original five on the Victorian-style property, will feature more than 1,500 square feet of living space, a garden with a Jacuzzi, a shaded porch, an outdoor living room with pool and a private stretch of Beach.
The remainder of the funds, an estimated $46 million, will go to some of the most popular common area resorts. Among the changes will be new sports facilities, embellished gastronomic venues and bars, and restructured spaces. Additionally, some of the furnishings in restaurants, suites, lobbies, and beach areas will be updated to match the improvements made to the properties.
Better mobility and connectivity will also be considered within the planned transformations.
The comprehensive project is aligned with the values of innovation of The Excellent Collection, with the commitment to maintain the highest level of hospitality that has led it to be among the best all-inclusive brands in the world.
With the improvements and changes, the company seeks to adapt to the growing demand of the VIP escape industry and Bespoke Service that makes possible the “extraordinary moments” that guests expect from their resorts, according to a statement.
