This Popular Jamaica All-Inclusive Has a New Culinary Program

One of Jamaica’s most beloved all-inclusive resorts has launched a new menu: the Sunset at the Palms Resort in Negril.

The adults-only retreat has named a new Chef, Michael Barnett, a native of Jamaica, who has put Jamaican culture at the forefront of the property’s culinary program.

Barnett, a former Culinary Ambassador for Jamaica, has what he terms a “fusion cooking style,” embracing the island’s national motto: Out of Many, One People.

The resort’s culinary offering emphasizes “sensory magic,” meaning guests can see, smell, taste and touch their food, especially during the Chef’s Showcase dinners, where the culinary team gets out from the kitchen to create a unique dining event.

Barnett’s favorite dish is jerk chicken leg and thigh stuffed with callaloo and glazed with a jerked guava sauce.

The 85-room hotel’s dining concepts include the Palm Grove Restaurant and the the Lotus Leaf Restaurant, along with the Palm Breeze Beach Bar and Grill, the Bamboo Bar and the Irie Martini Bar.
