Tourism invests more than 51 million pesos in various works in Miches
Minister Collado says that Miches’s time has come.
Miches, El Seibo.- The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, headed this Thursday, the beginning of the construction of a detachment, a parking area and pedestrian access in Esmeralda beach, in this municipality, works that will cost more than 51 million pesos.
This project, which will be carried out by the Executive Committee for Infrastructure in Tourist Zones (CEIZTUR), of the Ministry of Tourism, will contribute to the promotion, ordering and safety of visitors who come to this coastal attraction, classified as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
Access to the beach is intended to be a project of public utility, which will be guarded by members of the Navy of the Dominican Republic, whose condition provides for cleaning and security support, which will be complemented by the Tourist Police (POLITUR) sharing said custody.
It also includes the construction of 5 cargo containers to enable a military detachment, housing office spaces, dining room, bedrooms and bathrooms, as well as two additional containers to be used for bathrooms and changing rooms for visitors to Playa Esmeralda.
Meanwhile, the access road from the beach to the camp and parking lots will have an extension of 430 linear meters with two lanes divided by a central island culminating in a return.
Tourism Minister David Collado stated that these works are part of the Miches Comprehensive Tourism Development Plan, which is being developed by the government to enhance the area’s tourist attractions, surrounded by abundant landscaping and natural resources.
After stating that the time had come for Miches, he considered that no destination has invested so many rooms at once, coordinated the public and private sector from the beginning and made a planning with the hotels that come here.
He specified that of the new hotels that are being developed in the area, by the Cisneros family, entrepreneurs Frank Elías Rainieri and Rafael Papo Blanco, more than 1,500 jobs will be created that will activate agriculture, small businesses, the entire community, having the great opportunity for Miches to be the exemplary tourist destination in the Dominican Republic.
He expressed that these works will have a direct impact on small businesses in the area and offer great facilities to tourists who visit this paradisiacal beach.
“This is just part of the great things that we will do in this beautiful area, because the time has come for Miches,” said the Minister of Tourism.
He informed that the road extension will have a cobblestone termination, just like the existing road. Likewise, a security booth will be built to identify and guide visitors to the beach and guard the security of the area.
Yamil Isaías, president of Pro-Miches, thanked President Luis Abinader for his willingness and dedication to follow up initiatives that aim to develop a sustainable destination, respectful of the environment and socially inclusive, with a comprehensive Plan that covers all the sensitive areas of community well-being.
“We want to acknowledge the efforts of the Tourism team, led by Minister David Collado, who has been able to interpret and seek quick and efficient solutions to the needs that have arisen in this joint task.”
He stated that this work that begins today not only makes hotel and real estate development viable, but also guarantees decent public space for the enjoyment of Dominicans and foreigners ”.
The intervention includes enabling 42 parking spaces for light vehicles of which 2 will have universal accessibility dimensions. In addition to this, two parking bays will be built that have the flexibility to house 1 parking for bus or 5 parking for light vehicles.
A terrace area will also be built for a craft area, and a guardhouse for bathers.
