Tourism seals agreements to boost air connectivity in the Dominican Republic
One of the main objectives of the Dominican Republic in its participation in Fitur 2023, in addition to attracting foreign investment, was to reach agreements to improve air connectivity.
To this end, the Ministry of Tourism (Mitur), headed by David Collado, signed agreements with airlines and tour operators, such as with Nautalia Viajes, which directly benefits Bayahíbe, Puerto Plata, Samaná, Santo Domingo and Punta Cana.
“With Nautalia Viajes we signed an agreement that will increase travel to these destinations allowing more tourists to continue discovering the DR,” said Collado.
Meanwhile, with the TUI Group, an agreement was signed to encourage the arrival of tourists from Europe to Punta Cana, Samaná, Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata.
For the Dominican Republic, the minister renewed the cooperation agreement with Iberia.
“For the Dominican Republic, the Iberia connection is fundamental for tourism, so we are delighted to renew our cooperation agreement so that we can continue to increase the number of tourists visiting us from Europe,” he added.
In addition, an agreement was signed with Corte Inglés. “With the signing of the agreement with Corte Inglés, the number one travel agency in Spain, we hope to be able to continue increasing our presence in this important destination and impact the arrival of tourists to Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Bayahibe and Samaná,” said Collado.
