Tourist Fair “Stay in the Dominican Republic” will be held Jardin Botanico

With the interest of contributing to the economic reactivation of the country, professionals and entities linked to the tourism sector will carry out the National Fair of Internal Tourism, Welfare and Productivity “Stay in the Dominican Republic” in the wide and open locations of the Rafael M. Moscoso National Botanical Garden, on December 5 and 6 of this year.

The initiative has among its objectives, to show the numerous options for internal tourism, to promote good sanitary practices and to create opportunities for the progress of entrepreneurs and MYPimes in this new normal. This long-awaited meeting has the support of the National Association of Tourism Press (ADOMPRETUR), which has played a transcendental role in the management of tourism communication in the face of the pandemic, as well as with the participation of the Association of Hotels and Tourism (ASONAHORES ), the Dominican Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (ADAVIT) as well as clusters, community organizations, hotels, tourism projects, environmental and sustainable tourism entities, which will generate an inclusive scenario for the reactivation of all actors in the sector, from the main tourist poles, even the most thriving emerging destinations.

The information was offered by the tourist journalist Activil Modeste, coordinator of the event who recalled that tourism is the main economic source of the country, with an estimated impact of more than 23% of GDP, so the initiative has filled many with hope. Communities that depend on tourist activity and its derivatives to survive, which in recent months have suffered economic limitations and unemployment.

“If the sanitary condition allows it, in December we will close the year with a necessary meeting that will restore confidence and credibility to our tourist offer. We must invite the locals to support what is ours and at the same time send a clear message to foreign tourists to choose the Dominican Republic as a destination ”. Modeste added.

The project plans to make promotional clips from various parts of the country, for which the provinces of Monte Cristi and Pedernales have been chosen, as well as the historical revaluation exhibited by the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. In the event, local tourism will have a leading role, with facilities to promote offers, display products and services, training, presentation of new technologies and tourism protocols, as well as the management of support and services from government entities. Both the projects and the attending families will be able to access the facilities of financial institutions for their projects or plan a well-deserved experience of responsible tourism after confinement ”.

It will be an activity for the whole family that will include face-to-face activities, with free entry via electronic pre-reservation by schedules for attendees, which will guarantee adequate capacity management, preventive logistics, distancing and constant sanitation of the areas where the trainings will be held , talks and exhibitions, as well as digital platforms through which photographic contests will be developed to show the best of the Dominican Republic, as well as efforts to contribute to the economic recovery of the nation such as training, business roundtables and a job fair for vacancies of the tourism sector.
