Turizoneando will have a digital catalog in its fourth version

Santo Domingo – With the objective of promoting the cultural, historical and religious activities offered by the Colonial City, the Ministry of Tourism has been developing the fourth version of Turizoneando since July 1.

Merchants, artisans, artists and museum curators are articulated within this initiative, which is expected to offer new experiences for all those who visit the Colonial Zone, while boosting commercial activity in one of the most important historical and cultural heritages of the Dominican Republic.

In this regard, a virtual catalog has been developed that includes all available restaurants, as well as stores and guided tours to museums. All this information is available in both Spanish and English.

“Our intention is to promote the appreciation of the culture, art and history that we have in this space,” said the Vice Minister of Tourism Development, Tammy Reynoso.

She explained that this is the first time that the use of this digital platform is included in the Turizoneando proposal, in order to make it easier for visitors to the Colonial Zone to find each of the activities and experiences of interest to them.

Likewise, the platform will help the Ministry of Tourism with the collection of information, since it will allow to compile the data of those people who interact with the platform and, thus, measure the scope of the activity, a task that sometimes becomes “difficult” due to the increasing flow of tourists.

Events
The initiative includes permanent activities, such as folkloric animations, which will be available every Saturday and Sunday at 5:00 p.m., in charge of the Folkloric Ballet and Conjunto Tipico of the Ministry of Tourism.

Also, visitors will be able to move to Billini Park to see the offerings available at the craft markets, available from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Likewise, the group Bonyé will be performing, as they do every Sunday, and will have the audience dancing to the rhythm of son, merengue and salsa, from 6:00 in the afternoon until 10:00 at night.

On the other hand, the steps of the Conde will feature artistic presentations every Saturday until September 2nd, by Dominican singers of rock, tropical and popular music, rock and ballads and fusion genres.

To promote gastronomy and entertainment, Turizoneando includes a list of 45 businesses, including restaurants, bars and bicycle rentals.

Museums and temples
Likewise, the catalog includes the opening of 17 museums with free admission and guided tours from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

On this occasion, the Archbishopric of Santo Domingo will open the doors of the oldest temples of the city.

Churches such as the Church of Los Remedios, the Hermitage of San Antón, the Parish of Nuestra Señora del Carmen, the Church of San Miguel, the Church and Hospital of San Lázaro, the Convent of Los Domínicos, among others, will be available during the same hours, in order to make religious tourism available.

A growing event
Reynoso emphasized that Turizoneando is an event in constant growth, which has been joined by several actors for its coordination, such as the Ministry of Culture, the Santo Domingo Cluster and the Restaurant Association (Aderes), the Archbishopric of Santo Domingo, among others.
