Visit Orlando meets again with the Brazilian market at WTM Latin America
The fair has been the ideal platform to recover one of the most important issuing markets for the American destination.
The Sao Paulo World Travel Market was held from April 5 to 7 at the North Center of Sao Paulo. Visit Orlando had a stand where it presented its latest products and held meetings with tourism professionals from Brazil and the region to learn more. details, we have interviewed Leo Salazar, Public Relations Sr. Manager for Latin America. We share his responses below:
How has the experience of participating again in WTM Latin America 2022 been?
The idea has been to show the commitment we have with the Brazilian market, it is a very important country for us. It was very important to show our novelties not only to professionals from Brazil, we have also been visited by executives from all over Latin America. It is a super important region for Visit Orlando because they are always traveling to our destination and they have that total affinity with us. We must take into account that, during the pandemic, Brazilians have not been able to travel to visit us, the borders were opened in November and we have seen how they have begun to travel.
How has Orlando been preparing to show news to those who visit them again?
This year our airport is opening a third terminal, it is very important as it will allow the operation of new direct flights. In addition, we are going to have the train that arrives from Miami at the terminal early next year. This will greatly enhance the arrival of visitors, especially Latin Americans.
How do you describe the demand at the destination?
This summer we are already seeing growth in international arrivals, airlines are increasing flights, we notice that people are buying very close to their trips, they are not planning too far in advance, we believe that we will have a great demand at the time of Christmas and during the summer of southern South America. We expect the arrival of tourists to normalize by 2023 and of course by 2024 we believe that the international market will be returning to the levels we had in 2019.
We are seeing that in the international market the demand is impressive, there are travelers who for two years have not left their homes and want to travel to our destination.
In addition, we see that many people are interested in visiting us for a long time to not only enjoy the attractions, but also work remotely. Orlando is ideal for this concept, we have a city where you have a great time, with an unbeatable entertainment offer, where you have all kinds of activities to do for free or at a very low cost. We have even advanced a lot in terms of gastronomic proposal, we currently have 6000 restaurants, in fact, the Michelin Guide is creating a guide this year, but Miami, Tampa and Orlando. This is a great recognition of our city, positioning it as one of the most important in the world.
