Wingo bet: 3,000 seats per month between Santo Domingo and Panamá
Wingo has launched its fifth international route from the Dominican Republic, it is the link between Santo Domingo and Panama City, being the first low cost to connect the two capitals.
For the link, the Colombian airline has already started sales of the new route with promotional launch fares, which start from USD$103 on the Panama-Santo Domingo route and from USD$81 on the Santo Domingo-Panama route.
The inaugural flight will take place next Thursday, October 6, when the airline makes available to the Dominican market about 3,000 seats per month between both routes, distributed in two weekly frequencies on Thursday and Sunday.
According to a statement from the airline, with this launch, Wingo reaches 25 international routes, of which five of them connect with the Dominican Republic, which ratifies the importance of said market for Wingo’s route network and what once reveals the relevance of its operation in the Caribbean country.
“The Dominican Republic is an extremely important market for us and that is why we continue to grow in this country, offering more connectivity alternatives for Dominicans and for tourists interested in knowing the attractions of the country. With this launch, the first outside of Colombia, we add five direct routes with this territory. We will continue with the commitment to provide more and more alternatives at low cost and good vibes, to continue increasing our operational footprint in a key market for us”, said Jorge Jiménez, Wingo’s Commercial and Planning Director.
Once the new Santo Domingo – Panama route is implemented, Wingo will have the possibility of offering up to 44 flights per week to and from the Dominican Republic. Thus offering 190 flights per month that represent more than 35 thousand seats for travelers interested in visiting the country, as well as for Dominicans interested in knowing Medellín, Bogotá or Panama directly.
The airline currently offers six weekly flights on the Bogotá – Santo Domingo route and three weekly flights on the Medellín – Santo Domingo route. With the new connection with Panama, Wingo will be able to offer up to 11 flights a week, in the itineraries with the greatest capacity deployed.
Wingo’s operation in the country is complemented by the six weekly flights it offers between Punta Cana and Bogotá, as well as the five weekly flights it offers between Medellín and this same beach destination.
