Dominican Republic participates in the first Qatar Travel Mart tourism fair in the State of Qatar
Doha, Qatar. – The Dominican Republic is participating in the first edition of the tourism fair of the State of Qatar, which is held in the city of Doha, with the aim of continuing to strengthen the growth of the industry from the Middle East region.
The Qatar Travel Mart fair is the first and only tourism business platform in the State of Qatar, one of the potential and promising connection points for the Middle East, Gulf countries and Central Asia region.
The country is representing its “Country Brand” strategy by bringing together various government entities in Qatar, in a wide agenda of activities and meetings in order to establish and strengthen ties of cooperation and exchange between our nations.
The fair takes place from November 16 to 18, during the course of the day the Dominican Republic develops several scheduled activities, such as: the culture of handmade cigars by the torcedor representing the La Aurora brand; as well as traditional dance and a presentation of the country, its attractions and the successful example of handling the post-pandemic crisis.
The Ministry of Tourism, supported by the Dominican Embassy in Qatar, set up a friendly open space stand with areas dedicated to tourism, culture, nature, traditional arts and the hospitality of our people.
Present at the opening was His Excellency Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Home Affairs.
While, at the inauguration of the Dominican stand, the country’s ambassador to the State of Qatar, George Bahsa Hazim; Alexandra Streltsova, concurrent OPT Central Asia Director for Turkey and Gulf Countries; Marcial Smester, investment director of ProDominicana.
At the stand of the Ministry of Tourism after the official opening, senior officials from various countries represented at the fair met.
