The great final attraction will be that all these advantages will be valid for trips until December 22, 2022 “.

As part of the activities today, a lunch was held for the top sellers of the Star Agents program where the Iberostar team thanked them for all the support in sales and for continuing to be loyal to the Iberostar hotels in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Cuba, Jamaica and Brazil. . Similarly, in the evening, at the Jano’s Puerto Madero Restaurant, a gala dinner was held to entertain all the tour operators with which Iberostar Hotels & Resorts works in the Argentine market. As part of the tour agenda, meetings with tour operators and travel agencies in the cities of Rosario and La Plata are also included. The growth in 2022 of sales in Argentina by 22% vs. 2019 was also highlighted, highlighting the growth of destinations in the Dominican Republic by 24% and hotels in Mexico by 22%.
Another of the vitally important aspects addressed was the steady progress of the pioneering Wave of Change movement. The Iberostar Group continues to promote dynamics this year to continue leading a responsible tourism model and has already set new consolidated goals through its 2030 Agenda. For 2022, it has up to 15 objectives divided among the three areas of action: moving towards a circular economy model, promoting responsible consumption of fish and shellfish, and improving the coastal health of all the ecosystems that surround its facilities. To this end, this year it has created 3R departments (reduce, reuse, recycle) in all its hotels and continues to move forward to be free of waste by 2025 and neutral in carbon footprint by 2030.

In 2020, the Iberostar Group launched its 5 sustainability commitments to move towards a responsible tourism model based on the following major objectives to be met during this decade:

  1. Stop generating waste in 2025 and carbon neutrality in 2030 (20 years before what the global sector has announced through WTTC).
  2. To be 100% responsible in the seafood supply chain in 2025: consumption of fish and shellfish from 100% responsible sources.
  3. Invest in improving coastal health where all hotels are located by 2030.
  4. Get 90% of Iberostar customers to know about the Wave of Change movement, promoting a responsible tourism model to raise awareness in society and make it the deciding factor for 60% of customers to choose Iberostar in 2025.
  5. Duplicate the responsible tourism certification of Iberostar or of verified partners in the hotels of the portfolio by 2030.

Also in the different meetings, it was highlighted that on December 22, the Coral Level at Iberostar Selection Esmeralda, a new five-star hotel located on the beachfront, was inaugurated on the island of Cayo Cruz, Cuba, and in October 2021 it was inaugurated , in the Miraflores neighborhood (Lima), the first single-use plastic-free hotel in the Peruvian capital, the Iberostar Selection Miraflores hotel.

Without neglecting the rest of its lines of action, this year the Iberostar Group redefined its wedding offer by presenting Weddings By Iberostar as Imagined By You, its new wedding and honeymoon program designed for hotels in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica . In order to enrich the experience of its clients and promote sustainability, this new program, framed within the proposal of responsible tourism, personalizes the experience of couples and their guests.
