La Aurora receives the Grand National Private Sector Quality Award of the Dominican Republic

La Aurora received the highest distinction of the National Quality Award for the Private Sector of the Dominican Republic. The President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader, and the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Víctor Bisonó, who attended the event as guests, were in charge of presenting the award to the company’s president, Guillermo León.

Our company, the oldest tobacco company in the Dominican Republic, is among the 25 most outstanding companies in the country that have received the National Quality Award for the Private Sector. This award recognises performance in quality and excellence in the production of goods and services.

These awards seek to encourage the exchange of experience between companies that have developed a management model of excellence, with outstanding results, in addition to fostering a culture of quality worthy of imitation by companies nationwide.

As explained by the director of the National Quality Award for the Private Sector (PNC-SP), Ignacio Méndez, during the 5th edition of the awards, the awards aim to contribute towards generating pride in the world-class products and services that the country has.

“It is an award that promotes integrated quality management in Dominican companies and aims to increase their competitiveness, unemployment and sustainability, foster their continuous improvement and promote their transformation into world-class companies,” said Méndez.

In addition, the director of the National Quality Award for the Private Sector thanked all the actors who made the awards ceremony possible, the entire team, the evaluators and the jury. He also thanked the European Union, which has been supporting the Dominican Republic in everything related to the National Quality Policy; in particular by supporting the process of these awards at all times.
