Bahia Principe Golf qualifies its 1st Tournament in Dominican Republic as successful
Bahia Principe Golf, a division of the Living Resorts business unit of Grupo Piñero that manages four golf courses attached to its hotels and residential complexes, closed its first Bahia Principe Open Tournament held in the Dominican Republic last Saturday and brought together 60 players .
The competition, divided into 54 holes and individual stableford, was held in two of the best courses in the Dominican Republic. One of them was the newly named Ocean’s 4, in the Bahia Principe complex near La Romana, characterized by its 4 holes next to the Caribbean Sea and the second, where the second day was held, was the world-famous Teeth of the Dog, considered the best field in the Caribbean and one of the 30 best in the world.
About this combination of fields, Lydia Pinero, when consulted by Infotur Dominicano, indicated that they wanted to do it in this way to integrate the destination and make known one of the best golf courses in the world, especially for players who traveled from Spain , with what he considers is a support for this first Bahia Principe Tournament.
The winners of the tournament were awarded with prizes and trophies valued at 26,000 euros in the course of a gala dinner chaired by Lydia Piñero, Vice President of Quality and Innovation of Grupo Piñero, and which also had the participation of various authorities and executives representing of the group.
During the event, Lydia Piñero affirmed that her family has always considered golf “an indispensable complement to our resorts” and to the Dominican Republic “as our second home”, and celebrated the opportunity offered by the “unify sport” tournament and destination. “
As absolute champions of the tournament, they distinguished themselves in the first category, Marcos Michael Wallner, and in second category, Arturo Lope Gómez. The absolute runners-up were, in first category, Mauricio Ludovino Fernández, and in second category, Nuria Elizo Elizo. Finally, the absolute scratch champion was Alejandro Blanes Andersson.
The Bahia Principe Open was organized by Bahia Principe (Golf, Hotels & Resorts, and Residences) and with the support of other Grupo Piñero divisions attached to the Travels business unit (Soltour, and Coming2) extending these days beyond golf and in an environment of maximum harmony.
This year the tournament counted with the support and collaboration of Fermín Distruidora, Disbalca, Therrestra, Green Garden, Sampol, JL Graphics, Banreservas, Ron Barcelo, Constructora Tavarez, Aguas El Eden, Enterex, Electrolic, Ontol Gel, Yoplait, Café Santo Domingo, Depot, Marti Dem Fosfo B12, La Aurora and Barefoot Wines.

Ocean’s 4 also wants to stand out for its commitment to sustainability, which is transversal to the Piñero Group. His vision is to become a reference and an emblematic field in the area.
