Dominican Republic golf team obtains second place in Caribbean Championships
SANTO DOMINGO.- The Dominican Republic golf team obtained an honorable second place in the 64th edition of the Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships, an event held in Puerto Rico from 24 to 26 of this month, at the Country Club at Grand Reserve , from Rio Grande.
The Dominican team, with 13 points, took second place in the Arthur Zaide Trophy Cup. Puerto Rico, the host country, won the event.
Individually, Rhadames Peña was the best Creole player, with rounds of 70 + 72 and 74, finishing with 216 strokes, one less than the Puerto Rican Jeronimo Esteve, with 215.
The best players from the Caribbean, from the countries of Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas took part in the event.
The Creole team had Enrique Valverde as captain.
The Dominican men’s team was made up of Enrique Valverde (son), Radhames Peña, Kevin Rodríguez, Marcel Olivares, José Juan González and Aydan Downer.
While the female one was integrated by Daisy Caimari (assistant), the players Yae Eun Kim (Stephany), Camila Yoo, Mar Caimari and Mar Aybar.
