Hilton Garden Inn La Romana will open next December
The developers of the Hilton Garden Inn La Romana hotel are in the completion phase of the property, with its previous opening scheduled for next December, while its formal inauguration will be in January 2023.
This was stated by the executive president of Constructora Sofisa, Eduardo Tejera, who also said that the hotel, with 130 rooms built on a 5,000 m2 lot, had an investment of 22 million dollars.
“Half of the rooms are facing the sea, it will have a swimming pool, party rooms, a wedding area, 2 restaurants, among other amenities; but we will also have a boat transfer service to Catalina Island that is only 10 minutes from the hotel and is an innovative offer in the area », he added.
He stated that the property, now in the final phase, has generated around 200 jobs and when it starts operations, 75 or 80 permanent jobs.
He explained to arecoa.com that the hotel is not all-inclusive but is rented per room at an affordable price «but the user can make use of the rental for 4 people, two adults and 2 children.»
He said that as an added value to attract visitors and investors to the complex, it is contemplated that in the Costa del Sol area they are managing the development of apartments, houses and villas in a lot of almost 200,000 meters. «They will be developed little by little around the hotel with different contractors.»

Tejera stated that in terms of the area where the hotel of the famous Hilton brand was developed, in the municipal district of Caleta de La Romana, it should continue to be improved with infrastructure works, such as the one recently set up by the Mitur for the embellishment of the seafront. or boardwalk
«I have also seen that they are paving and we have been in conversation with the mayor to make a donation of lights for the main avenue with LED lanterns; planting trees to beautify and adapt the entrance, because the hotel has great potential », he added.
It is recalled that the main shareholder of the project that was built in a year and a half, is the Dominican Major League Baseball player, Edwin Encarnación and Riverhome Capital, is the company that owns the project.
Other investments in the DR
The manager stated that the Hilton brand intends to continue growing in the country in other tourist destinations such as Puerto Plata and Punta Cana. «We are seeing other areas such as Puerto Plata where we want to do something similar to Garden Inn, since we understand that the destination lol needs, and there is also interest in other areas that will eventually become known»
In that sense, he said that other types of hotels would be being built in Pedernales, not like the Garden Inn, for which he recalled that the Hilton chain is interested and participating to have hotels in the southern zone.
