IDAC seals cooperation agreement with Honduran civil aviation agency

The Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) and the Honduran Civil Aviation Agency (AHAC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, through which they will sponsor activities of a strictly technical nature, to optimize the training of personnel working in both institutions.

The agreement will emphasize the exchange of activities for the development and strengthening of operational safety and the development of work schemes limited to inspection, supervision of aerial activities and technical personnel, according to the nature and scope of the technical areas involved.

The memorandum contemplates, among other points, that the IDAC, through its Higher Academy of Aeronautical Sciences (ASCA), will supply the training needs of the Honduran Civil Aeronautics Agency (AHAC) that are contemplated in the portfolio of this academy and according to availability. The business proposals to be implemented will be annexes or addenda to this Memorandum of Understanding.

Both the IDAC and the AHAC agreed, to the extent possible, to grant each other appropriate facilities for the fulfillment of the objectives of this Memorandum of Understanding.

The signing was headed by Héctor Porcella, general director of IDAC and Gerardo Rivera Guifarro, executive director of AHAC; they were accompanied by Bernarda Franco, legal director of IDAC; Clara Fernández, ASCA director; Claudia Roa, director of Air Navigation; Pedro Piña, director of Flight Standards; José Manuel Zelaya Rosales, minister of Defense of Honduras; Jasmin Fabré, in charge of Interinstitutional Relations of IDAC and Gabriela Guerra, AHAC.

This inter-institutional cooperation agreement took place within the framework of the celebration of the III Global Symposium on Implementation Support of the International Civil Aviation Organization (GISS), which is being held in the tourist area of Punta Cana from April 30 to May 2, with the participation of representatives of 193 member countries of the specialized agency of the United Nations.
