Nominees for the II Iberoamerican Gastronomy Awards presented

The Ibero-American Academy of Gastronomy (AIBG) announced the personalities, institutions, projects and organizations that the national academies have proposed as candidates for the II Ibero-American Gastronomy Awards, to be held on November 13 in Madrid, Spain.

As in the first edition, the AIBG bases its awards on the pillars of gastronomy in the 21st century as a healthy, supportive, sustainable and satisfying activity.

The Healthy Gastronomy category includes the Sociedade Agricola do Freixo do Meio (Portugal) and the Aula de la Dieta Mediterránea y Vida Saludable (Dominican Republic). Competing in the Solidarity Gastronomy category are Lo Valledor (Chile), the Food Bank of the Dominican Republic, the Spanish Federation of Food Banks (Spain) and Cozinha com Alma (Portugal).

Finca 5ta SARoCO (Colombia); chefs Óscar González Buitrago (Colombia), Jaime Pesaque (Peru) and Carlos Estévez (Dominican Republic) and the restaurant A Cozinha (Portugal) are the nominees in the Sustainable Gastronomy category.

Chefs Yulián Téllez (Colombia) and José Avillez (Portugal), as well as the Central Restaurant (Peru) and the Dominican Restaurant Association (ADERES) are competing for the Satisfactory Gastronomy award. This year an additional award has been added to Global Gastronomy, which will go to the project that best represents the principles of the 4S (healthy, solidarity, sustainable and satisfying). In this category are the restaurants Casa Virgil (Argentina) and La Casa Bistró (Venezuela); and the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic.
